Connections are People who can get you Things You Want. There are connections, and there are Connections. You probably have a connection or three... but you probably don't have a Connection.

See that guy standing on the side over there? If he wears sunglasses, is a cop, or has kids, BACK THE FUCK OFF. Otherwise, does he look a bit foreign? Goatee or another feature of facial hair? Dressed like a student or bum? Looking anxious? He can help you out: just walk over casually and ask if he's Got Anything On Him. If he looks at you funny, ask him if he can Help You Out. If this fails too, ask if he Knows Someone. Alternatively, ask "do you have a friend called Mary Jane/Adam/Charlie/Lucy?" for Marijuana/MDMA/Cocaine/LSD, etc.
